STORRS, Conn. - The upcoming men’s soccer match against Creighton in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Sunday, December 2 is SOLD OUT. The winner of Sunday’s match will advance to the 2012 College Cup in Hoover, Ala. Sunday’s match will mark UConn’s fifth sell out and the fourth advance sell out of the season.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early due to the increased traffic associated with the projected sell-out crowd. The gates will open at 12 p.m. UConn most recently defeated New Mexico in the NCAA Third Round, 2-1, in double overtime behind freshman Nicholas Zuniga’s first career goal.
For those unable to attend, the game can be heard online at WHUS.org and on the radio at 91.7fm in most of Eastern Connecticut. There will also be a free live webstream of the game through UConnhuskies.com.
Maximum capacity at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium is 5,100. The Huskies are currently averaging 4,161 fans per match. That average is higher than 215 NCAA Division I men's basketball programs in 2011-12.
