TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 12, 2006) - University of Connecticut men's soccer team members Julius James (Maloney Gardens, Trinidad) and Toni Stahl (Tuusula, Finland) each earned postseason recognition from College Soccer News this week. James, a First Team NSCAA All-American, garnered First Team honors from CSN, while Stahl was placed on the All-Freshman First Team.
These are just the latest accolades to be bestowed upon the pair this postseason. James, now a two-time NSCAA All-America selection, finished the season as the BIG EAST Defender of the Year for the second-straight year, as well as a M.A.C. Hermann Trophy semifinalist.
Stahl began his UConn career in an equally illustrious fashion, being named the 2006 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and member of the all-conference third team. He followed the conference recognition with a place on the All-Northeast Third Team.
James and Stahl will headline the core group of returning players for next season that will look to improve upon the Huskies' 10-7-2 record from the 2006 season.
