STORRS, Conn. - UConn men's soccer stars Andrew Jean-Baptiste (Brentwood, N.Y.) and Andre Blake (May Pen, Jamaica) have earned national honors from Soccer America. Jean-Baptiste was named a Second-Team MVP while Blake was named All-Freshman First Team.

Andrew Jean-Baptiste earned Soccer America Second-Team MVP Honors after anchoring a UConn defense that allowed just 10 goals and recorded a program record 16 shutouts. He finished the year with two goals and an assist for five points while playing every minute of every game at center back for Connecticut. Last season, Jean-Baptiste was named a Soccer America Freshman All-American and followed that up with a selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team as a sophomore. He was also crowned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year this season and later went on to earn a spot on the NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team.

Blake, an NSCAA Third Team All-American, finished the season with 15 shutouts, including a program record nine straight from September 9 - October 8. Blake and the UConn defense recorded a shutout streak of 961:32. He was previously named to the College Soccer News All-Freshman First Team. He finished the season ranked second in the NCAA with a .888 save percentage and a 0.39 goals against average.
