At UConn: Once again earned All-Conference honors as a senior after finishing second in the 200-yard backstroke and the 400-yard IM at the American Athletic Championships...Received the 2014-15 American Athletic Conference Institutional Scholarship and the UConn Club Don Rick Award for his efforts outside of the pool... Served as the President of SAAC in his final season in Storrs, organizing several community outreach projects... Is the school record holder in the 200-yard backstroke (1:45.78) and 400-yard IM (3:47.88)...Had a great year as a junior, earning All-Conference honors after winning the 400-yard IM at the conference meet with NCAA B Cut times... Named the Freshman of the year along with Lachezar Shumakov in his first season.

Personal: Born March 13, 1993...son to William and Regina Franz....sister Gretchen....Environmental Science and International Policy major

Why UConn: I chose UConn because of the incredible athletic and academic dynamic. To me it seemed that they complemented each other incredibly well. The team was a large deciding factor for me and has helped me to succeed and grow thus far. I look forward to what this year holds and Go HUSKIES!
