STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's swimming and diving team posted a 180-108 win over Seton Hall on Sunday. The meet was also Senior Day for the Huskies as the team improved its dual meet record to 3-2 on the season.
UConn had five double winners on the day, including three seniors. Joe Glowacki (Erie, Pa.) won the 100-yard butterfly in 52.31 seconds and the 200-yard butterfly in 1:56.09. Kyungsoo Yoon (Toronto, Ont.) won the 50-yard freestyle in 20.94 and the 100-yard freestyle in 47.31. In diving, senior Grant Fecteau (Delmar, N.Y.) won the one-meter with 309.53 points and the three-meter with 354.23 points.
Sophomore Lachezar Shumkov (Sofia, Bulgaria) won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 58.43 second and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:09.50. Freshman Mike Lennon (Williston Park, N.Y.) won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:40.43 and the 1000-yard freestyle in 9:29.50.
Other event winners for UConn included: junior Sean Battle (Allison Park, Pa.) in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.39; junior Keith Piper (Naperville, Ill.); sophomore Sawyer Franz (Pine, Colo.) in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:53.44; and freshman Diguan Pigot (Miami, Fla.) in the 200-yard IM in 1:56.33.
The Huskies return to action next Saturday when they travel to Dartmouth for a 1 p.m. meet.
