LEWISBURG, Pa. --- The University of Connecticut men's and women's swimming and diving teams both posted wins over Bucknell on Friday night.
The women won by a 191 to 109 score while the men won 177.5 to 116.5. Themen's team is 6-1 on the year while the women are 5-2.
The UConn divers had a strong night as sophomore Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) won both the one meter and three meter events on the women's side while senikor Adam Genuario (Norwalk, Conn.) did the same on the men's side. Cecco set the UConn school record and the Bucknell pool record with a score of 317.85 in the three-meters.
Double winners on the men's side included sophomore Kyungsoo Yoon (Toronto, Ont.) in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races, sophomore Karim Zayed (Montreal, Que.) in the 50 and 200-yard freestyle and freshman sophomore Jeremy Ramshaw (Mississauga, Ont.) in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke.
On the women's side, double winners included sophomore Jordan Bowen (Lake Elmo, Minn.) in the 500 and 1000-yard freestyle, sophomore Kim Fleming (Mississauga, Ont.) in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke, junior Caitlin Gallagher (Lawrence, Kansas) in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke and junior Erin DeVinney (Avondale, Ariz.) in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly.
