HAMILTON, N.Y. - The University of Connecticut men’s swimming and diving team posted a 200-81 win over Colgate on Saturday. UConn concludes the dual meet portion of its season with a 4-3 record.
Senior Kyungsoo Yoon (Toronto, Ont.) was a double-winner on the day as he won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.03 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 51.57 seconds. Junior Keith Piper (Naperville, Ill.) won both the 100-yard backstroke in 52.28 seconds and 200-yard backstroke in 1:53.77. Freshman Dijuan Pigot (Miami, Fla.) won the 100-yard breaststroke in 57.28 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 47.39 seconds. Freshman Mike Lennon (Williston Park, N.Y.) won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:48.41 and the 1000-yard freestyle in 9:47.85.
Senior Grant Fecteau (Delmar, N.Y.) won both diving events with a 300.15 in the one-meter and a 302.40 in the three-meter.
Other winners on the day were Sophomore Lachezar Shumkov (Sofia, Bulgaria) in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:07.51; sophomore Sawyer Franz (Pine, Colo) in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:43.60; and senior Joe Glowacki (Erie, Pa.) in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:56.39.
The Huskies returns to action next Saturday when it plays host to the non-team scoring UConn Open.
