INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Connecticut men's swimming and diving team is in fourth place of nine teams after the second day of the BIG EAST Championship. The event continues on Friday and concludes Saturday.

Thursday was highlighted by two new school records for the Huskies. Freshman Mike Lennon (Williston Park, N.Y.) finished in fourth place in the finals of the 500-yard freestyle in 4:24.88 to set a school record.

Senior Kyungsoo Yoon (Toronto, Canada) broke the other record as he posted a 20.13 seconds mark in the preliminaries of the 50-yard freestyle. He went on to finish in fifth place in the 50-yard finals in 20.33 seconds. Sean Battle finished tied for seventh in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 20.57 seconds.

Sophomore Luke Zalewski (Burlington, Conn.) was fourth in the 500-yard freestyle B final in a time of 4:30.97.

The UConn 200-yard freestyle relay team finished in fourth place with a time of 1:21.33. That team was Yoon, junior Keith Piper (Naperville, Ill.), freshman Diguan Pigot (Miami, Fla.) and junior Sean Battle (Allison Park, Pa.).
