Swimming Heads To ECAC Championship This Weekend

STORRS, Conn. (February 25, 2009) -- Five University of Connecticut swimmers will head to Cambridge, Mass., this weekend to compete at the ECAC Championship, which takes place Friday through Sunday on the campus of Harvard University.

Senior Adrian Astiz (Rockville, Md.) will swim in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly while junior Bill Magin (Brookfield, Conn.) will be in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle. Freshman Nick Majtenyi (Catherines, Ont.) will bein the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle as well while sophomore Tomasz Sobek (Siemianowice Slaskie, Poland) will be in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke.

Junior Rachel Harrison (Holliston, Mass.) will swim the 500-yard freestyle to represent the women's team.

Sophomore Alex Davidson (Pointe-Claire, Que.) will also swim in the Canadian Short Course National Championships in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.
