INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Connecticut men’s swimming and diving team will participate in the BIG EAST Championship at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis on the campus of IUPUI from February 27 through March 2. The championships begin on Wednesday with relays and diving events while individual swimming events plus more diving takes place Thursday-Saturday.

In diving, senior Grant Fecteau (Delmar, N.Y.), freshman John Brice (Bala Cynwood, Pa.) and Anthony Cortright (Wallingford, Conn.) will all participate in the one-meter and three meter events while Cortright will be in the platform as well.

Husky swimmers that have qualified for the event are: junior Justyn Alexandre (Wallingford, Conn.) in the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke; freshman Greg Baliko (Fanwood, N.J.) in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard breaststroke; junior Sean Battle (Allison Park, Pa.) in the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle; sophomore Wyatt Boliek (Greenville, S.C.) in the 400-yard IM bonus, 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke; senior Nick Cerra (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly; junior Zach Coleman (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) in the 200-yard IM bonus, 400-yard IM bonus and the 200-yard butterfly; senior Sean Cook (Doylestown, Pa.) in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke; sophomore Sawyer Franz (Pine, Colo.) in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 400-yard IM, 1650-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke.

Also: senior Joe Glowacki (Erie, Pa.) in the 200-yard IM bonus, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly; freshman Mike Lennon (Williston Park, N.Y.)in the 500-yard freestyle, 400-yard IM and 1650-yard freestyle; freshman Jeff Magin (Brookfield, Conn.) in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke; freshman Diguan Pigot (Miami, Fla.) in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle; junior Keith Piper (Naperville, Ill.) in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle; freshman Jeandre Pretorius (Richards Bay, South Africa) in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke; sophomore Lachezar Shumkov (Sofia, Bulgaria) in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke; freshman Ryan Walsh (Monroe, N.Y.) in the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard butterfly; junior Ben Yacano (Glen Allen, Va.) in the 200-yard IM bonus, 100-yard butterfly bonus and the 200-yard butterly; senior Kyungsoo Yoon (Toronto, Ont.) in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard freestyle; and sophomore Luke Zalewski (Burlington, Conn.) in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 1650-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.
