STORRS, Conn - The UConn men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host a pair of meets this weekend as the teams welcome Central Connecticut, St. Bonaventure and Fordham to the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium in Storrs this weekend. The Huskies will square-off against CCSU and the Bonnies on Friday, October 20 at 11 a.m. and will welcome the Rams to Storrs for an 11 a.m. meet on Saturday, October 21.

The men's swimming and diving team put together a solid showing in its scrimmage on October 13, which saw junior Markus Hunter (Pietermaritzburg, South Africa) finish in second for the Huskies in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 58.40 seconds while sophomore Will Kearsey (Wheathampstead, England) was second in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:53.62.
Freshman Joshua Wroblewski (Farmington, Conn.) was second in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:43.01 while senior Kyle Kimura (Tampa, Fla.) was second in the 100-yard butterfly in 51.02 seconds. The 2017-18 version of the women's swimming and diving team debuts on Friday and will expect much from three seniors -- breaststroker Sammi Bassman (Austin, Texas), sprint freestyler Danielle Bordes(Alpahretta, Ga.) and diver Monica Marcello (Middletown, Conn.).
Senior distance freestyler Emma Smith (Nepean, Ontario) is also a top performer, coming off an American Athletic Conference title in the 500-yard and 1,650-yard freestyle and just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championship.
