NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The UConn men’s and swimming diving teams head to Southern Connecticut State University at 5 p.m. on Friday.
The Huskies are coming off dual meet victories against Fordham on October 21 at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium in Storrs.
UConn grabbed a pair of dual meet victories against Southern Connecticut last season on Jan. 20, 2017. The Huskies set a pool record in the 800-yard freestyle relay on the women’s side. Emma Smith, Margot Manning, Holly Parker and Jackie Van Lew recorded a time of 7:40.65.
Last week, sophomore Eliza Manning notched multiple victories in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle.
After a stellar freshman campaign, sophomore standout Will Kearsey has continued his success. He secured first place finishes in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke against Fordham.
Dan Kinney leads the divers for the Huskies after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
With their performances, Kearsey and Kinney won American Athletic Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week.
