Bob Goldberg Gives Thanks to Princeton Program

Nov. 15, 2016

PRINCETON, N.J. – Over the weekend during the Princeton “Big Al” Invitational, Princeton University honored UConn swimming and diving head coach Bob Goldberg with The “Big Al” Trophy for 2016.

The “Big Al” meet is Princeton’s annual meet and the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs present a Big Al award to both a swimmer and a coach.

The trophy is awarded in honor of Bruce Alan Ebersole, a 2007 graduate, to the sportswoman and sportsman who demonstrate superior dedication to the sport of swimming and diving through inspiration to teammates.

Goldberg is in the midst of his 29th and final season with the Huskies and was very gracious and thankful for the thought and appreciation doled out by Princeton.

“I am truly humbled by the award and to be thought of by them,” said Goldberg. “They have been one of the dominant programs in the sport and to be recognized by such a class group is an honor in itself. I can’t give enough thanks for this.”
