WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Connecticut men's tennis program dropped its second straight match of the weekend, falling to Army by a score of 5-2 today in West Point, N.Y. Senior Dave Adams and sophomore Ryan Carrwon their singles matches for the Huskies.

Dave Adams went an impressive 3-1 over the weekend.

Adams combined with junior Wei Lin to take their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-7. UConn's No. 1 duo of Scott Warden and Jacob Spreyer fell 8-6, as did Ryan Carr and Teddy Margules at the No. 3 pairing, 8-3.

The UConn men got off to a slow start in the doubles, until Adams and Lin got a break to go up 3-2 in games.  They got broken back 4 games later and Army evened the score at 6-6 in games.  Army held serve the next game to go up 7-6.  Lin served out a quick game to send it to a deciding tie-breaker.  The duo got down 3-1 in the breaker and fought their way back.  At 5-4, Adams was to serve and he served up a big first serve down the middle of the court and Army was unable to return it.  6-4 in the tiebreak, Adams had another great first serve and Lin put away the easy volley to clinch that doubles match.

In singles play, Dave Adams got a quick point for the Huskies by posting a straight-sets victory.  At number 5 singles, Carr won a decisive first set.  He was unable to carry that momentum into the second.  In the third set, he was broken early.  He broke back to even the set at 4-4 in games.  He was then able to hold serve to go up 5-4.  While returning, he fought hard and after many long rallies, he capitalized on his first match point to clinch the set 6-4.

In singles play, Warden dropped his No. 1 match, 6-4, 6-0 with Spreyer and Lin both dropping their matches at No. 2 and 3.
