STORRS, Conn - The UConn men's tennis team dropped a pair of matchs over the weekend at Lehigh University, falling to Fairleigh Dickinson, 7-0, and to the host Mountain Hawks, 6-1. The Huskies have dropped four-straight to start the spring season.
In Saturday's loss to FDU, the UConn doubles team of Andrew Ginzberg (Woodbridge, Conn.) and Zac McEntee (Yorba Linda, Calif.) earned a win at #3 doubles, beating William Bourne and Ryan Foster, 8-3. In singles play, McEntee lost a three-set battle at #3 falling 3-6, 7-6, 6-0 to Gonzalo Quintana. Christopher Toner (South Hamilton, Mass.) lost in three sets at #2 to Jacob Whalley, 6-3, 4-6, and 6-2.
On Sunday, the Huskies lone point came in singles play as senior Jacob Spreyer (Denver, Colo.) who won at the #1 spot, beating Ben Gilman 6-3 and 6-3.
UConn will play their first home match of the spring this Wednesday afternoon when they host Fairfield at the Manchester Raquet Club.
