STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis squad hit the road for a match at Boston University and came away with a 5-2 victory in Boston, Mass. The Huskies went 4-2 in singles play while taking the doubles point for the 5-2 victory.
"This was a great win for the team. We played very solid doubles today to clinch the doubles point. Warden and Lin led the way with wins in both singles and doubles," said UConn head coach Glenn Marshall.
Spreyer dropped his singles match, however, falling at No. 2 , 7-6, 3-6, 7-6.
Junior Wei Lin had a successful day for the Huskies, winning both his of his matches in singles and doubles play. In singles action, Lin took No. 3 in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles, Lin combined with sophomore Ryan Carr at No. 2 to take the match, 8-4.
Carr also added a point for the Huskies with his No. 5 singles victory in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Senior Dave Adams also took his singles match at No. 4 in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6.
