PUERTO RICO - The UConn men's tennis team blanked Wabash 7-0 on Tuesday in Puerto Rico.
The Huskies gave up one doubles match but swept the rest of the matches to take the 7-0 victory.
Freshman Ryan Carr and sophomore Wei Lin shut out their competition in their singles matches, winning with a pair of 6-0 sets. Carr downed Zach Lowry 6-0, 6-0, while Lin defeated Wade Miller 6-0, 6-0 as well.
Andrew Marcus dominated Peter Gunderman 6-0, 6-2 in No. 1 singles, while Scott Warden continued the blanking of Wabash with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Daniel Delgado. In No. 5 singles, Ricardo Cardona defeated Ricky Ritter 6-1, 6-2, while in No. 6 singles, freshman Teddy Margules downed Ian Leonard 6-1, 6-2.
Marcus and Warden combined to defeat Delgado and Miller in No. 1 doubles with an 8-1 victory. Dave Adams and Carr also won their doubles' match with an 8-5 win over Evan Bayless and Leonard.
Wabash's Peter Gunderman and Ritter defeated Cardona and Lin in Wabash's lone win of the afternoon with an 8-4 victory.
