Men's Tennis Falls to Georgetown 4-3

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis team was edged by Georgetown in BIG EAST Conference tennis action on Saturday. Georgetown won the doubles' point, taking 2-of-3 matches from the Huskies, then split the singles' matches 3-3.

In No. 1 doubles, Andrew Marcus and Scott Warden fell to Clarke and Bruhn before Caris and Miller downed Jai Yoon and Dave Adams 8-4 in the No. 2 spot. Ricardo Cardona and Wei Lin cruised to an 8-4 win in No. 3 doubles as they made some smart plays in the Huskies' lone doubles' win.

In singles' play, Marcus battled to a tie breaker in the first set but couldn't convert in the end. He lost to Clarke 7-6 (5), 6-4. Bruhn defeated Yoon 6-2, 7-5, while Miller battled Adams to a 7-6 (5), 6-0 win in the No. 4 spot.

Ryan Carr was down 5-2 and pushed to make the score 5-5 before winning the tie breaker as he defeated Distaso 6-1, 7-6 (4). Lin cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Georgetown's Friedlich.

UConn will return to action on Thursday with a 3:30 p.m. match against Marist in Storrs.
