STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis team hosted Villanova on Saturday for their "Senior Day" match on their home courts on the Storrs campus. Villanova posted a 4-1 win as the match was contested in clinch format. The Huskies are now 8-10 on the year as they head into the final week of the regular season.
Before Saturday's match, the Huskies honored their three graduating seniors, Parker Goldstein (Marietta, Ga.), Christopher Toner (South Hamilton, Mass.) and Arnaud Valentin (Ridgefield, Conn.) and their families.
The Huskies dropped the doubles point with loses at No.2 and No.3. UConn grabbed their lone point in the loss at No.5 singles where Valentin picked-up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Tommy Mulfur. Valentin improved to 14-10 on the season with the win.
UConn will close out the regular season with a road match at Stony Brook on Friday, April 14 and one more home match on Saturday, April 15 hosting St. Francis Brooklyn.
