STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis team fell to Boston College 7-0 in non-conference tennis action on Thursday afternoon.
Despite falling short in the match, UConn battled strong until the end. The Huskies' No. 1 doubles' pair had two match points but could not convert as Boston College had some great shots on the match points to get back to even.
The Huskies' No. 3 doubles' pair also had match point but the Eagles once again came out on top with a 9-8 (6) win over UConn's Ricardo Cardona and Wei Lin as the Huskies just missed earning the doubles' point.
Scott Warden had the closest singles' match for UConn in the No. 2 spot as he was edged by Boston College's Alex Skinner 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 after winning the first set. Warden's match came down to losing only a point on his serve.
The Huskies return to action on Saturday in Storrs to take on BIG EAST rival Villanova at noon. Saturday is also UConn's senior day as the program will honor its seniors at the match.
