SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The UConn men's tennis team fell to the top-seeded Louisville Cardinals 4-0 in its second match of the 2011 BIG EAST Conference Tennis Championships in South Bend, Ind.
After a great win on Thursday in their first match of the championships, the Huskies were set up to face Louisville, a team in which entered the tournament as the top seed for the third straight season.
Louisville took the doubles' point early in the match as Austen Childs and Adam Donaldson defeated UConn's Ricardo Cardona and Wei Line 8-4. In No. 2 doubles, UConn's Jai Yoon and Dave Adams fell to Robert Hall and Alejandro Calligari 8-2.
In singles' action, Calligari defeated freshman Ryan Carr 6-0, 6-1 to earn the Cardinals' second point of the afternoon. UConn's Adams then fell to Hall 6-1, 6-3, giving Louisville three match points before Simon Childs clinched the match for Louisville with a 6-2, 6-1 win over UConn's Yoon.
UConn will return to action on Saturday, April 30 in the consolation bracket of the BIG EAST Championship. The Huskies' opponent has yet to be determined as their match will begin at noon on Saturday afternoon.
