STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis team got its dual match season off to a perfect start for new coach Michael Louis Wednesday with a 7-0 home victory over the University of Hartford.
Four of the Huskies --- senior Ryan Carr (Madison, Conn.), junior Wayne Harrell (East Windsor, Conn.), freshman Parker Goldstein (Marietta, Ga.), and freshman Christopher Toner (South Hamilton, Mass.) --- each scored wins in a doubles match and a singles match to lead the victory.
"This was a good win and a good start to the season for us," Louis said. "Our players gained some confidence and toughness. The schedule is only going to get tougher from here on, but I know our team will continue to prepare for the challenges."
The Huskies continue their season Friday, traveling to Boston to challenge Boston University (1 p.m.) at the Longwood Country Club.
