STORRS, Conn. - Due to rain, the UConn Tennis Invitational has been relocated to the East Hartford Racquet Club this afternoon. The University of Connecticut men's tennis team will compete among 12 teams traveling to the area in what will now be a two-day competition. Competition will resume Saturday at both the East Hartford Racquet Club as well as the Manchester Racquet Club.
Friday's competition will consist of only doubles matches allowing the most student-athletes to participate as possible considering the limited amount of court space. Saturday's competition will feature both doubles and singles matches as the UConn Tennis Invitational will be split between two indoor facilities.
Among the 12 teams in competition, the invitational features schools from the America East, Metro Atlantic, Northeast and Patriot League.
Men's Tennis was most recently in action at Sacred Heart on Sept. 24. The Huskies dropped a difficult 6-1 decision to the Pioneers. Andrew Marcus (Potomac, Md.) won his singles match at No. 3 to deny Sacred Heart the opportunity to sweep UConn.
