Numerous Huskies Register Season-Best Marks at Valentine Invite

BOSTON – The UConn men’s track and field team competed in the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday.

Senior captain Michael O’Donnell set a season -best in the One Mile Run with a time of 4:02.87 placing 14th in the event.

Five Huskies placed in the top 10 in the pole vault with Ian Bergere (4.95, 4th), Caleb Kasupski (4.80, 5th), Samuel Rusak (4.80, 6th), Marc Deluca (4.80, 7th) and Chandler Ives (4.65, 8th).

Freshman Benjamin Grosse secured a season-best mark in the high jump with a 1.95 M mark while Scott Safir (6.63 M) in the long jump and Matthew Brady (15.73 M) in the shot put secured top 10 spots in their respective events.

Colt Nichols (1:05.58) in the 500 M, Terrell Cunningham (1:52.98) in the 800 M, Parker Timmerman (2:28.64) in the 1000 M and Michael McGonnigle (8:24.77) in the 3000 M all set seasons-best times on Saturday.

The Huskies return to action for the American Athletic Conference Championship in Birmingham, Ala. on Feb 23-24
