Lacroix finished first in the long jump

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Claudio DelliCarpini and Harley Lacroix claimed first place in their respective events on Sunday to lead the Huskies at the Yale Invite. The Huskies concluded the meet with 12 top-five finishes.
DelliCarpini finished first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.59 and Lacroix was first in the long jump with a mark of 6.85m.
On the track, David Kenney was the first top-five time crossing the finish line in 10.79 in the 100 meter dash, while Tyler Hopson was fourth (22.68) in the 200m dash and Kyle Twombly was third (48.61) and Sean Walsh was fifth (50.77) in the 400 meter dash.
In the longer distance events, Nick O’Leary claimed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:52.58 and Bryan Fowler was third in the 1,500 in 4:00.45. The final top-five mark on the track was James Lowe in fourth in the 400 meter hurdles in 56.79.
In the field events, Jesse Chapman posted a hurl of 46.46m and Sam Smith had a toss of 43.19m in the discus for second and fifth place, respectively. Oluwatosin Edwards took second in the hammer with a throw of 49.08m.
The Huskies begin the championship season next weekend in the BIG EAST Championship.
