PRINCETON, N.J.- The UConn men's track and field team concluded the outdoor IC4A Championships on Sunday afternoon where the Huskies finished seventh after notching 35 points. Cornell claimed first place with 68 points.
Sophomore Selwyn Maxwell (Monroe, N.Y.) was the lone Husky to reach the podium in an individual event at the 2013 Outdoor IC4A Championships as he finished third in the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 13.94 to earn Connecticut six points.
UConn's 4x800 meter relay team consisting of Tim Bennatan (Lake Forest, Ill.), Nick O'Leary (North Attleboro, Mass.), James Agati (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and Alvaro Chavez (West Windsor, N.J.) claimed the bronze with a time of 7:35.86.
Senior Jesse Drinks (Ossinging, N.Y.) tallied five points after crossing the finish line fourth in the 100m dash in 10.78.
Connecticut saw three Huskies earn their squad 15 points in the field events with senior Josh Faboyede (Providence, R.I.) and sophomore Amanze Williams (New Haven, Conn.) each capturing fourth place in their respective events. Faboyede posted a throw of 60.35m (198-00) in the hammer, while Williams notched a leap of 14.99m (48-02.25) in the triple jump. Additionally, junior Eric Masington (Trevose, Pa.) amassed five points after finishing sixth (17.01m) in the shot put and seventh (52.30m) in the discus.
The Huskies are off until the three-day NCAA East Regionals which begin on Thursday, May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
