STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men’s track and field team is back in action this Saturday as they travel north to Boston University’s Terrier Classic. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. with the last event slated to begin at 8:20 p.m.
The Huskies are coming off a dominating performance at the Great Dane Classic where the squad claimed first place at the Armory with 126.5 points. Connecticut captured three first place titles with Alex Levine, Selwyn Maxwell and the DMR team earning the top spot.
Levine posted his first collegiate first place with a time of 1:54.10 in the 800 meter run, while Maxwell took first in the 60 meter hurdles with a personal best of 7.96.
Cory Duggan tied his personal best in the pole vault with a jump of 4.95m for third place. Duggan’s performance at the Armory earned him his first conference accolade as he was tabbed BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week.
Continuing to find success in the field events, the Huskies saw Josh Faboyede and Chris Ackell bring home second and sixth place in the weight throw, respectively. Both tosses were personal bests for the athletes as Faboyede registered a hurl of 18.83m and Ackell threw it 16.99m.
