2001 Big East Indoor Track and Field Championship To Be Webcast

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Fans of the University of Connecticut men's and women's track and field programs will be able to watch a live webcast of this weekends 2001 BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championship, which is scheduled for February 17- 18 at Syracuse University in New York. The broadcast is a production of through a joint venture with the conference.

The meet will mark the third BIG EAST track and field championship to feature two separate productions in parallel, permitting the viewer to select whether to watch either the track or field competition. Using Tandem Multimedia Simulcast Technology, will broadcast live coverage of every lap of every race along with every field event.

High speed Internet access (cable modern, ISDN, T1, campus Ethernet, etc.) is recommended. A Windows Media Player is also necessary. It is best viewed using the most recent version of the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser.

The webcast can be seen live or on-demand for up to one year at On Saturday the first event of the day begins at 8:30 a.m., while Sunday's events get underway at 10:30 a.m.

This is the 23rd consecutive season for Syracuse University to be hosting the championship. Georgetown has won the most men's championships with 10, including three in a row. Villanova has captured 11 women's titles, winning the league crown a season ago. Last year, the UConn men's team took third while the Husky women placed eighth.
