STORRS, Conn. – With the recent gold medal at last weekend’s BIG EAST Championships, the UConn men’s track and field team looks to continue its stellar start to the championship season as they head to Boston on Friday and Saturday for the New England Championships. Friday’s and Saturday’s events are slated to begin at 10 a.m. each day.

Connecticut has claimed seven consecutive New England crowns and won 18 out of the past 19 years. The Huskies posted 19 top-five finishes en route to last year’s title.

The Huskies enter the regional meet as the No. 1 squad in the Northeast Region following a dominant first place finish at the BIG EAST Championships. It marked Connecticut’s ninth indoor title and 12th overall conference crown. Capping off a superb trip to Ohio was head coach Greg Roy and his staff being honored as the BIG EAST Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year.

Following this weekend’s meet, UConn will compete at the IC4A Championships. Check back to uconnhuskies.com on Saturday evening for the New England’s full recap and results.
