    Pisano Wins Javelin at Sea Ray Relays

    KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE (April 14, 2001)-University of Connecticut men's track and field freshman Paul Pisano (Toms River, NJ) won the men's javelin throw Saturday during competition at the 35th Annual Sea Ray Relays on the campus of the University of Tennessee.

    Pisano, who has placed first in the javelin in three consecutive spring competitions, won the event at the UT Sea Ray Relays with a throw of 213'6", easily outdistancing second place finisher Scott Benowicz from Cornell who finished at 205'4".

    Pisano opened the spring season with a winning throw of 198'7" at the Florida International Golden Panther Invitational and followed that with a 210'4" winning performance at the seven-team home meet in Storrs (April 7).
