Durham, N.H. -The Huskies sent several athletes to the University New Hampshire Invitational. UConn was extremely successful and had an amazing showing by their underclassmen.
Sophomore Claudio DelliCarpini claimed first place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.23 and freshman Selwyn Maxwell was second in 14.28. Sophomore Kyle Twombly notched another Husky title as he crossed the finish line in 49.22 for first place in the 400m dash.
In the 800m run, freshman Phil Caldwell grabbed first place with a time of 1:57.06 and freshman James Agati was fifth after finishing in 1:58.60. Junior Chris Whyte took fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.76.
On the field, junior Justin Siekierski posted a second place finish in the javelin with a toss of 55.49m (182-01) and was second in the discus (43.54m). Freshman Amanze Williams tallied another first place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 13.60m and freshman Toby Belton was first in the high jump (1.94m).
In the long jump, DelliCarpini was second (6.96m), Ben Waruch was fourth (6.70m) and Williams was fifth (6.58m).
