    EUGENE, Ore. – Brian Gagnon (UConn ‘10) competed in his second running event of the 2012 USA Olympic Trials as he vied for a chance to represent Team USA in London in the 1500m run. Gagnon ended his time in Eugene in the semifinals of the 1500 where he was seventh in his heat with a time of 3:51.86.

    The Lowell, Mass. native reached the semifinals after posting a mark of 3:41.38 in the preliminary round in Eugene.

    Gagnon also competed in the 800m trials the previous week and was joined by former Husky Mike Rutt (UConn ‘11). Gagnon and Rutt both made their way to the semis but just fell short of reaching the 800 finals with times of 1:47.10 and 1:47.99, respectively.
