STORRS, Conn. -
The UConn men's track and field program invites all alumni and friends to the Kyle Milliken Memorial Run, which will be held on the UConn campus on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017.
The run will be a celebration of the life and career of UConn track and field alumnus and Navy Special Warfare Operator Senior Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Kyle Milliken '02, who was killed in action on May 5, 2017 in East Africa while serving his country.
Milliken, a member of the elite SEAL Team 6, would often taunt his fellow teammates that they could never handle a UConn track workout and specifically mention the beloved and dreaded "Bone Mill" run.
Please join us on September 16 when Milliken's SEAL teammates come to Storrs to honor him with his former UConn teammates and the 2017-18 men's track and cross country teams, to run Bone Mill in his memory. There will be a reception and ceremony following the run at the Alumni Center (2384 Alumni Drive).
Registration will be from 12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. with the run at 1 p.m. The reception will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a memorial and testimonial in honor of Milliken at 2:30 p.m.
Registration for the day can be done online by CLICKING HERE or the day of the run at the Alumni Center -- adjacent to the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. Parking is available in the North Garage. More information on the event can also be found on Facebook under Kyle Milliken Memorial Run.
In addition, the Kyle Milliken Memorial Fund has been established at UConn and will provide scholarship support to men's track and field student-athletes who best exemplify the commitment and spirit of Milliken. The fund will also provide financial support for special capital projects that benefit the men's track and field program as well other programmatic enhancements.
