Huskies Finish 10th At New England Championship

BOSTON, Mass. (October 9, 2010) - The University of Connecticut men's cross country team, which was paced by Nick Aguila (West Hartford, Conn.), finished 10th as a team at the New England Championship this afternoon in Boston, Mass. There were 47 teams competing at the meet and over 300 individual runners.

Aguila was UConn's highest finisher, placing 25th with a season-best time of 25:19, while freshman Dan Francoeur (West Hartford, Conn.) also finished in the top-30, placing 29th with a time of 25:21. The race was just Francoeur's second of his collegiate career.

Jordan Magath (Hillsborough, N.J.) also ran a season-best time of 25:34 to place 43rd overall, while freshman Ryan McGuire (Orange, Conn.) was the final Husky to finish in the top-100, placing 94th (26:10).

Artem Skobrev (Norwalk, Conn.), Joe Clark (West Islip, N.Y.) and Christain Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) also ran for the Huskies, with Skobrev and Clark recording season-bests with times of 26:48 and 27:11 respectively.

UConn returns to action next weekend when they take part in the Connecticut College Invitational held in Waterford, Conn.
