Waterford, Conn. - Nick Aguila (West Hartford, Conn.), Jordan Magath (Hillsborough, N.J.), Ryan McGuire (Orange, Conn.) and Dan Francoeur (West Hartford, Conn.) all finished in the top-10 at the Connecticut College Invitational, leading the University of Connecticut men's cross country team to their first victory of the season this afternoon at Harkness Memorial State Park.
UConn and Tufts both ended the race with 59 points tying for first place, with the College of New Jersey (123), Fairfield (158) and Connecticut College (168) rounding out the top-five of the 19-team field.
For the second race this season, UConn finished with the most runners in the top-10, also doing so at the UMass Invitational earlier this season.
Aguila paced the Huskies for the third time this year with a third place finish in a time of 25:43.
Magath, McGuire and Francoeur all finished within five seconds of each other, placing sixth (25:49), seventh (25:51) and eighth (25:54) respectively for UConn.
Artem Skobrev (Norwalk, Conn.) was the next Husky to finish, placing 38th with a time of 26:45, followed by Christian Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) who finished 45th (26:51) and Joe Clark (West Islip, N.Y.) who placed 48th in a time of 26:53.
The Huskies will have a week to prepare before the BIG EAST Championship which will take place on October 30 in Jamesville, N.Y.
