Madison, Conn. - Ryan McGuire (Orange, Conn.) paced the University of Connecticut men's cross country team as they competed at the NCAA East Regional this afternoon at Hammonassett State Park in Madison, Conn. As a team UConn finished 24th at the meet.
McGuire finished the race in 31:59 for a 90th place individual finish out of 229 total runners. Jordan Magath (Hillsborough, N.J.) crossed the finish line next for the Huskies with a time of 32:19, while Nick Aguila (West Hartford, Conn.) was right behind him finishing in 32:22.
Joe Clark (West Islip, N.Y.) was the fourth Husky to finish, ending the race in a time of 33:06. Artem Skobrev (Norwalk, Conn.) and Dan Francoeur (West Hartford, Conn.) rounded out the UConn squad finishing in 34:10 and 34:43 respectively.
For the second year in a row Syracuse won the NCAA East Regional meet, while Leonard Korir of Iona was the first individual to cross the finish line.
