Men's Cross Country Finishes Second To Quinnipiac In First Dual Meet Of Season

HAMDEN, Conn. (September 28, 2008) – The University of Connecticut men’s cross country team came in second place against Quinnipiac in their first dual meet of the season.

Sophomore Scott Johnson (Old Lyme, Conn.) came in first for the Huskies, second overall with a time of 26:08. Finishing right behind him in third place was freshman Andrew Judd (West Hartford, Conn.) just three seconds later.

All but two Huskies finished within 27 minutes as freshman Luke Albertson (Norwich, Conn.) came in at 26:55 and sophomore David Macklem (Tolland, Conn.) came in at 26:57, ninth overall.

Senior Brian Gagnon (Lowell, Mass.) and junior Michael Rutt (Sinking Springs, Conn.) came in over the 27-minute mark finishing at 27:54 and 28:11 respectively.

The Huskies have a weekend off and will return to action Saturday Oct. 11, at the New England Championships in Boston, Mass.
