Oct. 7, 2010

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's cross country team continues the 2010 season on Saturday (Oct. 9) at the New England Championship in Boston, Mass. The race will take place at Franklin Park, with the men's 8k starting at 1:30 p.m.

UConn has participated in the New England Championship during all 14 years of its existence, finishing in the top-10 six times. The highest finish for the Huskies came during the 2006 season when they finished fourth as a team and UConn's Max Feldman was the individual champion.

Last season the Huskies placed sixth with two runners finishing in the top-25, Will Sanders (2nd) and Scott Johnson (25th).

The Huskies last raced at the UMass Invitational (9/18) where they placed second, making it the first time since 2006 that UConn has finished in the top two in each of their first two meets of the season. Connecticut finished with four top-10 runners, the most of any team at the meet.
