STORRS, Conn. - After a week off, the University of Connecticut men's and women's cross country team will be heading out to compete at the New England Championships at Franklin Park on Saturday, October 10. The women's race will begin at 12:30 p.m. while the men start at 1:30 p.m.
Gagnon is coming off of a 10th place finish at the Connecticut College meet where he led the UConn runners in crossing the finish line. The Huskies finished in fourth place as a team in the meet.
Last season at the New England Championships, the UConn men finished in 30th place overall among the 47 different teams competing. Johnson led the way crossing the line first in 41st place in a time of 25:31.
The women, who are ranked 10th in the Northeast cross country rankings, are coming off of a sixth place finish at the Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn. led by Courtney Dinnan who finished in 29th place.
Last year, the UConn women finished in 25th place out of 45 colleges in the New England Championship. Kaitlin Vaughan led the way for the Huskies finishing 95th overall with a time of 19:25.
