KINGSTON, R.I. – Coming off a top-10 performance at the 2016 New England Championships, the UConn men’s cross country team returns to action on Friday, Oct. 14 when it participates in the Rothenberg Run at Goddard Park.

The Huskies secured an eighth-place team finish on Saturday at Franklin Park, wrapping up the 34-team meet with 234 team points. Connecticut averaged a 25:41 second finish in the 8K race, placing three individuals into the top-60.
A season ago, UConn picked up the meet title at the annual event, topping two of the top-15 teams in the USTFCCCA’s Northeast Region in Dartmouth (No. 4) and Brown (No. 11). The Huskies’ average finish time in the 8K race was 25:15, which was 20 seconds faster than the nearest competitor.
On Monday, Husky captain Mike O’Donnell was named the American Athletic Conference Male Athlete of the Week after turning in a seventh-place individual finish in Boston.
