UConn Heads To Connecticut College Invitational

STORRS, Conn. - Following a top-10 finish at the New England Championship last weekend, the University of Connecticut men's cross country team will continue the 2010 season at the Connecticut College Invitational this Saturday (Oct. 16). The men's 8k race will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn.

The Huskies have participated in the meet twice over the last 10 years, finishing fourth during both the 2009 and 2007 seasons.

Teams participating in this year's invite include Assumption College, Connecticut College, SUNY-Cortland, Dowling College, Fairfield University, University of Hartford, UMass-Dartmouth, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mitchell College, The College of New Jersey, SUNY-Oneonta, Pace, Ramapo College, Rhode Island, Salve Regina University, St. Anselm College, Southern Connecticut State, Trinity College and Tufts.

Last week UConn finished 10th at the New England Championship, led by sophomore Nick Aguila who finished 25th overall (25:19). Connecticut had three runners finish in the top-50 out of over 300 total runners at the meet. The 10th place finish marks the seventh time that the Huskies have finished in the top-10 at the New England Championship.
