UConn Set For BIG EAST Championship on Friday

Huskies travel to the Bronx for BIG EAST Championship.

STORRS, Conn. - The men’s cross country team will be competing at the BIG EAST Championship this Friday, Oct. 26 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The 8K will begin at 11:50 a.m.

The Huskies, who finished 10th at the 2011 BIG EAST Championship, most recently took home first at the Conn College Invite.

Junior Ryan McGuire has been a proven leader on the team and was most recently named BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the week. McGuire has finished first in four meets for the Huskies. His first place finish contributed to the Huskies’ win at the Connecticut College Invite.

UConn will face three nationally ranked league opponents on Friday with Syracuse holding the highest ranking of No. 16, while Villanova and Georgetown are 25th and 27th, respectively.
