UConn To Compete At NCAA East Regional Meet

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's cross country team continues its 2010 season this weekend at the NCAA East Regional Cross Country Meet. The race will begin at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 13 at Hammonassett State Park in Madison, Conn.

The NCAA East Regional meet comes two weeks after the Huskies participated in the 2010 BIG EAST Championship, where they placed 10th as a team, led by Dan Francoeur (West Hartford, Conn.) who finished 52nd with a time of 26:53.

UConn's best race of the year came at the Connecticut College Invite (10/16) when they brought home a first place finish after four Huskies placed in the top-10; Nick Aguila (West Hartford, Conn.), Jordan Magath (Hillsborough, N.J.), Ryan McGuire (Orange, Conn.) and Francoeur.

Aguila, McGuire and Francoeur have combined for UConn's five top times this season, Aguila leading the Huskies at the Fairlfied Invite (2nd-26:18), New England Championship (25th-25:19) and the Connecticut College Invite (3rd-25:43), McGuire pacing the team at the UMass Invite (6th-25:53) and Francoeur at the BIG EAST Championship.
