STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut Student-Athlete Advisory Committee played host to its second annual SAAC O'Lantern on Monday night at Gampel Pavilion.
Student-athletes from various Husky team made different types of stations to provide Halloween for children from the local community with games and fun activities. In addition, Jonathan the Husky and members of the cheerleading and dance teams entertained the children and guests in attendance.
Prizes were given to teams for the best displays as field hockey was the overall winner with men's basketball finishing second and third place going to men's and women's swimming and diving.
Each team did an amazing job of displaying their creativity and, most importantly, student-athletes were able to bond and work together on the project, which required a person from each class being involved.
A moment of silence at the end of the night was held in honor of breast cancer victims. Every team and participant received a pink wrist band.
