General Student Ticket FAQs

UConn supports a total of 24 intercollegiate sports during the academic year with a majority not requiring a ticket for admission. Certain sports like Football, Men's & Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Soccer and Men's Ice Hockey do require a ticket to attend. Most of our students attend these games through the purchase of discounted season tickets. Football & Soccer student season tickets go on sale in the spring. Men's & Women's Basketball tickets go on sale after the start of the fall semester via a student lottery. Men's Hockey student ticket information will also be available in the fall.

Due to the high demand for UConn Basketball tickets, a student lottery is utilized to maintain a fair system that gives all students the opportunity to participate in the process. In this weighted lottery, all incoming Freshmen have their name entered one time. Sophomores will receive two entries, Juniors three, and Seniors four. The lottery is a random drawing of names with winners announced in mid-September. Winners then have the ability to purchase season tickets. After the lottery buying process ends, all remaining season tickets will go on-sale to non-winning lottery entrants. Student season ticket packages for Men's and Women's Basketball are available for games at each of our basketball home venues, Gampel Pavilion in Storrs and XL Center in Hartford (i.e. four (4) total season ticket packages available to purchase).

UConn Football hosts its home games at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT. Located roughly 30 minutes from campus, Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field seats 40,000 including a student section of over 4,000! UConn Men's and Women's Basketball games are played at Gampel Pavilion (located on-campus) and the XL Center (downtown Hartford). SUBOG (Student Union Board of Governors) typically runs buses for each of our home games at Rentschler Field and the XL Center. Bus information will be available in the fall at the start of the academic year.

Throughout the course of the year, UConn Athletics will periodically o er students the opportunity to purchase single game tickets for mom, dad, friends, etc. through our "Friends & Family" offer. Typically offered at a discount, these tickets will be available for select sporting events and will need to be purchased in-person at the UConn Ticket Office (located in the breezeway between Gampel Pavilion and the Student Recreation Facility). Ticket offers will be sent to students via email during the school year.
