How to Give to the UConn Athletics Development Fund (UCADF)
Fans, alumni, parents and family can contribute to UConn Athletics through two easy options:
1. Online: We have launched a new website where you can make a gift or even pay your pledge if you are a current UCADF donor
2. Print and mail in your 2013-14 Pledge Form. You can send your completed form to the UConn Athletics Development office by fax 860-486-3251 or mail to this address:
2111 Hillside Road, Unit 3078
Storrs, CT 06269
Cash or checks are always accepted and will be acknowledged by receipt. Checks should be made payable to The University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. or UCADF. Credit card (Visa, American Express, MasterCard or Discover) donations are an easy way to contribute to UConn Athletics. Appreciated assets, stocks and bonds are some of the other ways to give.
In accordance with Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 170(l), all donors who are entitled to purchase tickets with preferred seating and who do not request a waiver of benefits are eligible to deduct only 80% of their contributions.
The IRC also describes what other benefits a donor may receive as a result of a contribution. A donor can only deduct the amount of a contribution that is more than the value of the benefits received. Therefore, the 80% portion of your gift is only tax deductible to the extent that it exceeds the value of any additional benefits you receive. Donor pins, newsletters, and other token items do not reduce the amount eligible for deduction for tax purposes; however, other goods or services a donor receives in consideration for donations can further reduce deductibility. Please consult your tax advisor. If a donor is eligible to receive any additional goods or services, an estimate of their fair market value will be provided.
Matching gifts are accepted from an individual's employer. It is important to note that corporations will only match gifts for certain purposes other than UConn Athletics. Each employer/corporation establishes its matching gift guidelines and reserves the right to modify them periodically. The donor is responsible for ensuring that all matching gift funds arrive in a timely fashion. Matching gifts may not pay down a personal pledge or be used towards a football seat donation.
Priority points for matching gifts will be credited to a donor's account only upon receipt of those matching gift monies to the UCADF.
