STORRS, Conn. - Vince Volpe, who served the previous four years as the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations at Oral Roberts University, has been named the Associate Director of Athletics for Development by the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics and the University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc.

Volpe will be responsible for planning and implementing UConn's athletic fundraising program, including annual fundraising, major gifts and capital projects. He will serve on Warde Manuel's leadership team, as well as report to Brian Otis, Vice President for Development with the UConn Foundation.

"I am very pleased and happy to welcome Vince to the University of Connecticut," said Manuel. "He brings impressive experience in athletic fundraising to UConn. We will rely on that background to strengthen our relationship with our current donors, reconnect with those that have given in the past and cultivate new gifts. This is a critical time for UConn athletics to increase its donor base and support."

"Vince understands the importance of fundraising in the world of collegiate athletics and I look forward to working with him and the entire Athletic Development staff to advance the division's fundraising priorities with our loyal alumni and fans," said Otis.

In his role at Oral Roberts, Volpe managed annual, capital and endowment fundraising for athletics, as well as all facets of ticket sales, branding, licensing and merchandising. He was a member of the Athletic Director's Executive Staff and served as a liaison to the University's Advancement and Alumni Relations program.

Prior to joining Oral Roberts, Vince was the Executive Director of Development and Tiger Scholarship Fund at Missouri. He also worked at the University of Kentucky as an Athletic Department Assistant.\

Volpe is a graduate of Indiana University and played on the Hoosiers' baseball team as a scholarship student-athlete. Volpe's wife Laura was a gymnastics student-athlete at Missouri.
