WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Providing student-athletes with an opportunity to obtain a quality education is our primary mission. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, private support is more essential than ever for the success of our 24 varsity sports and more than 700 student-athletes.
In the 2014-15 academic year, the total scholarship expense is projected to be $14 million. Increasing scholarship support for our student-athletes will be a key to the future success of UConn Athletics.

Establishing an endowment is a great way to make a lasting impact on UConn Athletics. An endowed gift supplies the UConn Division of Athletics with a long-term source of income that provides the resources necessary to attract and retain the nation's top student-athletes and coaches. For more information on establishing or contributing to an endowed fund, please contact the UConn Athletic Development Office at (860) 486-3863 or by email at UConnClub@foundation.uconn.edu.
The Division of Athletics is committed to continuing the tradition of academic excellenceat UConn by providing the resources, support and positive environment our student-athletes need to achieve academic success. Endowed scholarships create a lasting legacy while providing current student-athletes with the tools to be successful both in the classroom and on the fields of play. For UConn's coaches, endowed scholarships allow them to continue recruiting talented student-athletes from around the world. UConn's Division of Athletics currently has more than 140 named endowed scholarships. The minimum financial commitment needed to establish an endowed athletics scholarship at UConn is $125,000. Endowed scholarships provide an opportunity for donors to establish a legacy with UConn Athletics.
Once you establish your endowed scholarship, additional gifts can be contributed, thereby increasing the value and impact of your scholarship in future years. Although donors cannot select specific scholarship recipients, they can designate their support to a specific sport or identify other criteria. From time to time endowment donors are invited to events such as the UConn Athletic Endowed Dinner which recognizes donors and student-athlete recipients. This dinner is a great opportunity for endowed donors to meet current UConn student-athletes who have been positively impacted by their contributions.
