UConn Head Coach Geno Auriemma

On tough run at the end of the first quarter:
"Sometimes you count on some things being automatic and you start thinking those things are guaranteed and they are going to happen every game and that is not the case. Sometimes you have to figure out a different way to do it. We just didn't get the kind of ball movement or people movement we usually get."

On value of Gabby Williams:

"Today she was exactly what we need, sometimes we just hand the ball to Gabby and watch her play. She is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and the first quarter seemed to be Gabby against them. That is not normally what we do but it was another great game for her."

On bench play:

"Taking Crystal out of our equation really hurts us because she is someone that when we bring her in we are not sacrificing anything, she is going to be able to score is going to be able to make things happen for other people as well. We need her back and that will automatically make our bench production much better. Today they were actually not bad, I would like to see a little more of that."

On halftime adjustments:

"Sometimes there is nothing you can say at half time. Sometimes you have a lot to say, today was not one of those days. What was I going to say to them? They knew what they had to do and they went back to our game plan."

Junior forward Gabby William

On sluggish start
"I don't know. Today was kind of tough. We can't allow ourselves to start like that in the first place. I think once we got things going in transition that got us going, but we just have to come out from the jump."

On Katie Lou Samuelson

"She is never going to have an entire game when she is off, ever. She is going to find her shot eventually so I am just trying to get the offensive rebound and kick it back out to her and start to get a rhythm going.

Sophomore forward Katie Lou Samuelson

On slow start
"I think today was kind of all on us. We didn't have a great walkthrough, as good as we should have. Normally on the team we tell everyone to snap out of it, so we can't really say it was the time because we are going to have to be ready to play. We can have early games in the tournament coming up."

On Saniya Chong
"Saniya has been really good this year consistently in practice and in games for us. We know we can count on her and she has been doing a great job distributing the ball and playing well"

Junior guard Kia Nurse
On 21-0 run at the end of the 1st quarter
"We got out in transition and hit a couple of layups. Gabby and Napheesa worked down low so that did the work."

On slow start
"You know that obviously wasn't the start we wanted to have and not a start we want to have in any game, but I think when we kind of just bore down and understood what we had to execute, get some scores, and get some stops, and try and pick up what we forgot to do.
