UConn head coach Geno Auriemma
On Katie Lou Samuelson's struggles:
"I don't usually worry about her if she is struggling. If you put stress on it, it will get worse before it gets better. Eventually good shooters like her will shoot their way out of it and return to form. Today she was really active and made a lot of great plays."
On his two seniors:
"They finished their careers 144-1. That's pretty darn good. They will be able to tell all of their friends and relatives that they played on teams that went 141-1."
On the crowd:
"The crowd was amazing tonight. It's not like we are playing for a championship or anything today. These 2 seniors haven't been all Americans or anything, they are just regular kids and our fans came out for them."
On Kia Nurse:
"According to our medical staff, Kia should be back to doing basketball stuff on Wednesday. How much stuff, I don't know. She told me she'll be playing on Saturday."
Senior guard Saniya Chong
On the crowd:
"It was amazing just knowing that they were that dedicated and we have their support. It makes us work even harder because we want to show them a good show."
On what senior day means to her:
"It means a lot because it shows that throughout the year my teammates have trusted me. I've just been working really hard for that."
Senior guard Tierney Lawlor
On getting an assist at the start of the game:
"Lou and I joke a lot about it in practice. I always stay after with her to feed her passes for shots so that was kind of sweet."
On what it's like for people in her hometown to watch her play:
"I think it was exciting for them. To be able to come up here and say 'I know her' is just really sweet."
